Quick fixes
No alarm was set
Departd sets the next morning’s alarm while the app is open, but only once your day is done: after its evening reminder (or your End of Day time, if the reminder is off) and after your last event of the day. If you opened it earlier than that, open it again before bed. Both times are in Settings › Departure Intelligence. Check that you allowed Calendar and Alarm access. Departd also sets no alarm when your wake time falls in or after the hour you’re usually up by. For example, if you’re usually up by 7:30, a 7:10 wake time gets no alarm. You can change that in Settings › Departure Intelligence › I’m Usually Awake By.
The trip isn’t being timed
Give tomorrow’s first event an address or a place in its Location field, and Departd times the trip to it.
The wake time looks wrong
On the Home screen, tap the Why link under your wake time (for example, Why 6:40 AM?), or press and hold the time itself, to see how it adds up. If the getting-ready step looks wrong, change it in Settings › Morning Routine. Travel is measured from the home address you gave during setup, or from where your phone is when you’re away from home. If that starting point looks wrong, email us.
The alarm didn’t ring on silent
Departd rings through silent mode only when it’s allowed to set alarms. Check Departd’s permissions in the iPhone Settings app. Without alarm access it sends an ordinary notification instead, which won’t ring on silent and which Focus can hide.
Subscriptions
- Restore a purchase: in Departd, open Settings, tap Upgrade, then Restore at the bottom of the next screen. In your first 7 days on a new iPhone there’s no Upgrade button yet, so tap Go Pro or Keep Pro near the top of the Home screen instead, then Restore.
- Manage or cancel: your Apple subscriptions, or iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
- Refunds: handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Before something you can’t miss
For a flight, an interview or anything else you truly can’t be late for, set a backup alarm as well. Departd depends on iOS for background time and notifications, and iOS doesn’t guarantee either.
